The Science of Zombies

Stages of the Disease

According to the Federal Vampire and Zombie Agency there are THREE STAGES of the disease.

Stage One: Infection. Symptoms of zombie infection appear quickly: within one or two hours, the victim will develop a headache, fever, chills and other flu-like symptoms. Zombie infections last about half as long as their vampiric counterparts, mostly between three and six hours, during which the vaccine is 100 percent effective.

Stage Two: Coma. Zombie comas are considerably more brief than vampiric comas. While physiological changes-slow pulse, shallow breathing-are similar, the coma lasts only between four and six hours. Only the very young and very old do not survive zombie comas. Zombies have been found as young as five years old and as old as 90. As with vampires, the vaccine is 50 percent effective when administered during Stage Two of the infection: the longer the victim has been in the coma, the less effective the vaccine.

Stage Three: Transformation. Zombies awaken from their comas in a catatonic state. They are unresponsive to most stimuli as they shuffle about, trying to locate their prey. Unlike vampires, there is no acclimation period; a zombie will begin hunting immediately upon transformation.

FINISHING THE FLOORPLAN

Good evening Ghouls...Janine, Greg and I finished the fine tuning of the footprint that ZOMBIE MANOR will rise from today. After laying down the maze pathway and rooms we felt there was need to expand and contract a few of the areas in order to maximize the scare and be as efficient with the space possible. We also met with our electrician to discuss power requirements as well as the lighting scemes and sound that will flow through the Manor this season.
We will finalize our building materials list next week and very soon after begin wall panel construction.
Haunting regards,
Dean

LAYING DOWN THE FLOORPLAN

Greetings ghouls and all you undead...Digger here once again with an update from ZOMBIE MANOR. Greg and I spent the afternoon meeting with Element Pictures and discussing opportunities to expand the zombie and horror film making presence in the DFW market. Dallas-Fort Worth is host to numerous talanted and creative scriptwriters, special effects artists and production houses. In the year ahead we hope to create a vehicle which will bring film makers together in an environment to creatively network, share ideas and market your films to the public and your peers. For additional information, contact Ryan Herrera at Element Pictures at elementpicturespro@yahoo.com for more details!

Also, we took our first steps in laying down the footprint for what will become ZOMBIE MANOR this October ... hey, it's easier to move duct tape than theater flats, right? As we finish laying down the floorplan this weekend it will not be long before the construction crew arrives to create the sets which will become ZOMBIE MANOR this October.

Finally, we are "fleshing out" the details of our marketing campaign for ZOMBIE MANOR with our graphic artist extraordinare, JOHN PEARSON, of Frightworld Studios and FLESHROT fame. You've seen his work before and his efforts have been endorsed by none other than the great George Romero himself!
Stay tuned for all of the latest updates!

Haunting regards,
Digger
